Programs & Courses

What piano programs do you offer?

We offer six structured learning programs: Piano Foundations (8 weeks), Music Theory for Piano (6 weeks), Keyboard Technique Development (10 weeks), Sight Reading & Ear Training (6 weeks), Piano Practice & Performance Preparation (8 weeks), and Adult Piano Learning (12 weeks). All programs are available online for learners across Canada.

How long does each program take?

Program durations vary from 6 to 12 weeks depending on the course. Piano Foundations and Adult Piano Learning are longer programs. Music Theory and Sight Reading are shorter, focused courses. You can study at your own pace within the structured timeline.

Can I switch between programs?

Yes. If you want to switch programs, contact our team at [email protected] to discuss your options. Many learners benefit from completing foundational courses before moving to more specialized programs like Music Theory or Performance Preparation.

Are certificates issued after completion?

Selected programs include certificates confirming course completion. These certificates acknowledge your participation and learning achievement but do not guarantee musical proficiency, exam success, employment, or professional recognition. Certificates are provided as educational records only.

Eligibility & Access

Who can join the piano lessons?

Lessons are available to children, teenagers, adults, and learners throughout Canada who want to study piano in a structured educational format. We welcome students of all ages and backgrounds. The only requirement is access to a piano or keyboard and a stable internet connection.

Do I need previous musical experience?

No. Beginner programs explain each topic step by step and are designed for participants with no previous piano or music background. Everyone starts from the fundamentals. Our approach is accessible to complete beginners as well as returning learners.

Are lessons available across Canada?

Yes. Online lessons allow learners from every Canadian province and territory to participate remotely. You can study from home at your own pace. Our programs are delivered entirely online, making them accessible regardless of location.

Can I study at my own pace?

Yes. While programs have structured timelines, you can work through lessons at a pace that suits your schedule. This flexibility is one of the advantages of online learning—you balance your piano studies with work, family, and other responsibilities.

Learning & Equipment

What equipment is recommended?

Participants should have access to an acoustic piano or digital keyboard with at least 61 keys. You'll also need a stable internet connection, a notebook for taking notes, headphones if using online materials, and a quiet practice space. The specific equipment you choose depends on your budget and living situation.

Is an acoustic piano necessary, or can I use a keyboard?

Both acoustic pianos and digital keyboards are suitable for learning. Acoustic pianos offer traditional hammer action and sound, while digital keyboards are more affordable and portable. Choose based on your budget, space, and preferences. Either instrument is effective for developing keyboard skills, technique, and musical understanding.

Will I learn music theory?

Yes. Music theory, rhythm, notation, and sight reading are included in beginner and intermediate learning pathways. We offer a dedicated Music Theory for Piano program that covers notation, scales, chords, intervals, key awareness, and harmony basics. Theory is woven throughout all programs to support piano learning.

How much practice time is expected?

Practice time varies by program and individual progress. Most learners benefit from 20-30 minutes of daily practice for beginners, increasing to 45-60 minutes as skills develop. Consistent practice is more important than long practice sessions. Our programs include structured practice routines and guidance to help you establish effective habits.

Educational Outcomes & Guarantees

Do these lessons guarantee professional music results?

No. Programs are educational only and do not guarantee exams, auditions, employment, public performances, professional recognition, academic admission, income, or music industry success. We focus on teaching structured piano skills and musical understanding. Individual progress and outcomes depend on personal effort, practice consistency, musical aptitude, and personal goals.

Will I pass music exams if I take these lessons?

Our programs provide foundational skills and music education that can support exam preparation, but we do not guarantee exam success. Passing music exams depends on many factors including individual study, examination format, examiner standards, and personal musical development. If you plan to take formal exams, discuss specific exam requirements with your education provider.

What will I actually learn and be able to do?

You will develop practical musical skills including: understanding keyboard layout and hand position, reading musical notation, playing simple melodies and rhythms, understanding basic music theory, developing hand coordination and finger independence, building listening skills, and establishing consistent practice routines. These foundational skills provide the basis for continued musical learning and enjoyment.

Are there any age restrictions?

No specific age restrictions exist. Children as young as 5-6 years old can begin piano lessons, though younger learners require parental support. Teenagers and adults of any age can start learning piano. Our Adult Piano Learning program is specifically designed for learners 18 and older who want flexible, adult-paced instruction.
